Project Clean Air

Since its inception in 1991, the goal of Project Clean Air, Inc. (PCA) has been to work with residents, local businesses and public agencies to seek solutions to improving air quality and educating people about the connection between poor air quality and increased respiratory and heart health problems. We seek to develop cooperative joint ventures that will help businesses and member agencies meet challenges in a cost-effective manner.

PCA is proud of our award winning, groundbreaking programs such as: Kern Auto Recycle, Teach the Teachers, the Clean Air Rally, Advanced Engine Technologies, Alternatives to Ag Burning, and Blue Sky Partners. PCA is also a founding member of the Tree Foundation of Kern. Trees clean the air, while other programs prevent air pollution.

Project Clean Air manages the San Joaquin Valley Clean Cities Coalition. The SJVCCC is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Program. Through the SJVCCC, we have several partnerships: the San Joaquin Valley Electric Vehicle Partnership and the San Joaquin Valley Natural Gas Partnership.
